At first, a nose that's savoury and minerally with shy, brooding fruit underneath. Succulent, tangy, wall-to-wall cherry fruit on the palate. Great depth and fantastic, coating, almost slick tannins.

Op Isole e Olena, het fraai gelegen wijndomein in het hart van de Chianti Classico, maakt Paolo de Marchi vooral wijnen met druifexpressie. Een eigen ‘De Marchi-signatuur’ die zich sterk onderscheidt van steeds meer op elkaar lijkende wijnen met smaakdikte en dominant eikenhout.

Het heeft Paolo vele jaren gekost om de wijngaard geleidelijk te beplanten met de beste klonen en te begrijpen hoe de verschillende percelen wijngaard optimaal bewerkt moeten worden. Inmiddels maakt hij een wereldwijd bejubelde Chianti, met een kenmerkende frisheid en grote elegantie die doen denken aan de structuur van een mooie Bourgogne.

Wijngoed Isole e Olena

Natuurlijk zijn er ook mooie Chianti’s met meer smaakdikte en verleidelijk eikenhout, maar in de oorspronkelijke stijl is Isole e Olena dé referentie. Vergeet de matige ‘vakantie-Chianti’ en probeer deze bijzonder mooie wijn van Paolo de Marchi.

Proefnotitie

Fraaie Chianti met een volrode tint en een uitgesproken fruitig aroma, met nuances van lichte kruiden en gebrande tonen. De smaak zet vol en sappig in en ontwikkelt zich evenwichtig, met fijne tannine in de finale. Balans en verfijning!

Drinken bij

Uitstekend bij vele pasta's en gerechten met lams- of rundvlees.

Houdbaarheid

Op dronk vanaf drie jaar na de oogst en gemakkelijk tot acht jaar houdbaar.
